Environment
Our mission here at the Sanford Sewerage District is to make sure our impact on the environment is nothing less than positive. Because of the care we put into our surroundings, we are lucky to have quite a few different species of birds and other fauna making this area their home!
We have a great relationship with birdwatchers, who have so far identified around 230 different species of birds on our grounds – that’s almost half of the nearly 436 species native to Maine! Visitors in general are welcome to enjoy our grounds, but we ask that everyone remain as respectful as possible to the delicate environment. For more information about our local environment and birdwatching, please visit the York County Audubon Society’s website here!
